The project consisted in the analysis and interpretation of four monitoring events at four groundwater points, one surface water point and one leachate liquid point, in the period between 2017 and 2021, for a former dump operated by the city of São Carlos which was decommissioned. The analysis served as basis for the review of the programme implemented by the environmental agency in view of the problems that were found. The innovative component of the project was an analysis focused not only on checking compliance with the standards, but also on the consistency of the data obtained and possible cause-effect relationships for the changes observed.
The main services provided within the scope of this project were: a) Proposing changes to collection points; b) Validating the monitoring data collected, c) Analyses based on the chemical characteristics of the slurry and on the local hydrogeology; d) Proposing changes to the network to better evaluate the former dump
